How to install hinges and your cabinet doors
Installing your new cabinet doors is simple and DIY friendly!
Step 1:
Doors arrive ready to install
If hinges are purchased through us, your cabinet doors arrive pre-drilled for concealed hinges. No measuring or specialty boring is required. All necessary screws are included.
Important: If you choose not to purchase hinges through CDP, you will need to select your hinge boring distance and pattern during checkout. Then this guide for how to install hinges steps will vary depending on the hinge type you use.
Step 2:
Insert the hinges into the door
Place each hinge into the pre-drilled cup hole on the back of the cabinet door. The hinge should sit flat and flush in the opening.
Step 3:
Secure hinges to the door
Using the provided screws, attach the hinges to the cabinet door.
Use a low torque setting on your drill or install by hand to avoid stripping the screws. Tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
Repeat for each hinge.
Step 4:
Attach the hinges to the cabinet face frame
Position the cabinet door in the opening and place the hinge arm onto the face frame.
Secure each hinge to the frame using the provided screws. Install one hinge at a time and check alignment as you go.
Again, use low torque or hand tightening to prevent stripping.
Step 5:
Check alignment and operation
Open and close the door to confirm smooth operation and proper alignment. Make any minor adjustments, then fully tighten all screws.
Your hinges and cabinet door is now installed!
